Required airflow, minimum point-of-use pressure, duty cycle, simultaneous demand, leakage, future growth, air quality and site conditions all influence the selection.
Choose by free-air delivery at the required working pressure. Motor kW is useful for electrical planning but is not the primary sizing value.
Use a realistic allowance for leakage and credible growth. Excessive oversizing can increase unloaded running and operating cost.
The old machine is a useful reference, but we prefer current demand, controller history and pressure measurements because the plant may have changed.

Yes. A correctly sized fixed-speed compressor can be effective for a stable base load.
Higher pressure increases the compression work and can worsen leakage. Operate at the lowest practical pressure that still meets the process requirement.
It provides stored air, helps manage short peaks, stabilises pressure and can reduce excessive cycling. It cannot replace compressor capacity for sustained demand.

Many industrial systems use one to control moisture. The right dryer type and dew point depend on the process and environmental conditions.
The filter train depends on contamination risk. It may include bulk separation, coalescing and particulate filtration, with activated carbon for specific applications.
No. High-quality filtration may suit many processes, but genuine oil-free compression is required where the process specification demands it.
