The 300 litre air receiver tank is the entry-level solution for small workshops, tyre fitting centres, dental surgeries, panel beating shops and petrol station forecourts. It pairs perfectly with a 7.5 kW or 11 kW rotary screw compressor, providing stable system pressure, reducing compressor cycling and protecting downstream equipment from pressure fluctuations.
At 300 litres, this receiver is compact enough to fit in tight plant rooms and small workshops while still providing meaningful air storage. The vertical orientation minimises floor space — critical in workshops where every square metre counts.
Unlike running a compressor directly into your air lines, a correctly-sized air receiver acts as a buffer — absorbing peak demand spikes, allowing the compressor to run fewer start-stop cycles, extending motor and air-end life, and providing a reservoir when short bursts of high demand occur (such as impact wrenches, air grinders or tyre inflation).
All 300 litre receivers are supplied with a SANS-compliant pressure test certificate, factory-set safety relief valve, glycerin-filled pressure gauge and manual drain valve. Internal surfaces are shot-blasted and primed. External finish is industrial enamel.
Factory-set SANS-compliant pressure safety valve. Prevents over-pressurisation. Set to working pressure ± tolerance.
Glycerin-filled dial pressure gauge (100 mm or 150 mm depending on size). Digital transmitter available on request.
Manual full-bore drain valve for condensate removal. Automatic timed or zero-loss drain available as upgrade.
Pressure test certificate and SANS 347 compliance documentation supplied with every unit.
Internal shot-blasted and primed to minimise corrosion. Epoxy internal lining available on request.
1" BSP inlet, 3/4" BSP outlet standard. Additional nozzles for gauge, safety valve and drain included.
External industrial enamel paint finish. Weatherproof external coating available for outdoor installations.
Structural steel feet for vertical orientation. Saddle legs for horizontal installation.
Small workshops, tyre fitting, dental surgeries, panel beating starter setups, petrol station forecourts
Adequate storage volume means your compressor runs fewer start-stop cycles — reducing motor wear, starter contactor wear and heat stress on the air-end. Screw compressors running in load/unload mode benefit greatly from correct receiver sizing.
A receiver acts as a pressure buffer — absorbing demand spikes without immediate pressure drop. Critical for spray painting, pneumatic controls and precision tooling where pressure variation causes quality problems.
Short-term demand spikes (impact wrenches, multiple guns firing simultaneously, large valve actuations) can be met from the receiver without the compressor struggling to keep up — provided the receiver is correctly sized.
As a general guide: Receiver volume (litres) = FAD (L/min) × 6 to 10. The 300 litre receiver is suited for compressors with FAD up to approximately up to 1.8 m³/min.
| Compressor Size | FAD (m³/min) | Recommended Receiver | This Receiver Suitable? |

| 15 kW | ~2.2 | 500 L | ⚠️ Borderline |
| 22 kW | ~3.6 | 500–1 000 L | ⚠️ Small |
| 37 kW | ~6.0 | 1 000 L | ⚠️ Too small |
| 55 kW | ~9.5 | 2 000 L | ⚠️ Too small |
| 75–90 kW | ~13–16 | 2 000–5 000 L | ⚠️ Too small |

A 300 litre receiver is suitable for a 7.5–11 kW compressor in a small workshop with moderate intermittent air use — tyre inflation, impact wrenches, air blow-offs. For spray painting or continuous production, consider a 500 litre or larger receiver.
It is possible but not ideal — a 15 kW compressor delivers approximately 2.2 m³/min and would benefit more from a 500–1 000 litre receiver. A 300 litre tank may cause excessive compressor cycling under load.
Yes — all our receivers are pressure tested and supplied with SANS-compliant documentation including the pressure test certificate.
The 300 litre receiver is designed for vertical orientation only. Horizontal 300 litre units are available on special order — contact us.
